some friends who live in the boonies of the central valley came into SF to meet up for dinner. we went to Contigo, a tapas place in Noe Valley. the food was good but definitely not traditional Catalan style; it was definitely “Californian-ized”. some of the more notable dishes were:grilled octopus & artichoke hearts over squid ink rice – rich, briny, and murky the albondigas (pork meatballs) – the most unbelievable taste and texture churros con chocolate – no better way to end a good spanish meal with an old favorite
good food, good wine, and most importantly good company was a welcomed treat during these lean times.
*my apologies for all the “soft” photos recently… using a new app on the iPhone and still haven’t figured it all out
